Students must take the placement exam if they are seeking a college degree or certificate.
Students who have taken math and/or writing courses at another college will not be
required to take the placement exam if they provide a transcript showing successful
The placement exam measures reading, math, and language-usage skills. This computer-adapted assessment program was developed specifically for community college students and is used nationwide. Scores will determine placement in English and math classes. Students who use placement exam results when selecting classes are more likely to succeed.
The cost of assessment is included in the universal fee. Students are encouraged to take the placement exam as soon as possible. There is a $10 fee to re-take the placement exam. For more information, contact the Testing Center.
