Creating A Forum

1. In the Course Tools section of the Control Panel, click Discussion Board.
2. Select the course or group you want to create the forum in.
3. Click the Forum ______ button.
4. Enter a name for the forum in the Name box.
5. Enter text for the forum in the Description box.
6. Select options in the Forum Settings section.
7. Click the Submit ____ button.

Creating a Discussion Thread

1. In Discussion Board, click the forum name to access the forum.
2. Click the Thread ____ button.
3. Enter a subject in the Subject box.
4. Enter thread text in the Message box.
5. Optional: To add an attachment, click Attach a File, click the Browse ____ button, locate and select the file you want to add, and click the Open button.
6. Click the Submit ____ button.

Reading and Replying to a Thread

1. In Discussion Board, click the forum name to access the forum.
2. Click the thread name to read the thread.
3. Do one of the following:
   To reply to the original thread, click the Reply ____ button next to the thread name.
   To reply to a post in the thread, click the Reply ____ button on the post you want to reply to.
4. Enter reply text in the Message box.
5. Optional: To add an attachment, click Attach a File, click the Browse _____ button, locate and select the file you want to add, and click the Open button.
6. Click the Submit _____ button.

Working with a Thread

1. In Discussion Board, click the forum name to access the forum.
2. Check the box next to the thread you want to work with.
3. Do one of the following:
   To lock the thread so that it cannot be replied to, click the Lock _____ button.
   To unlock a thread, click the Unlock ______ button.
   To remove a thread , click the Remove ______ button and click the OK button.
4. Click the OK button.
5. Click the OK button to exit the discussion board.
