Creating an Announcement
- In the Course Tools section of the Control Panel, click Announcements.
- Click the Add Announcement _____ button.
- Enter a subject in the Subject box.
- Enter the format announcement text in the Message box.
- Optional: Select options in the Options section.
- Optional: In the Course Link section, click the Browse ____ button next to the Location box and select a course location to link to.
- Optional: Check or clear the Email this announcement to all course users box.
- Click the Submit ____ button and click the OK button.
Creating a Calendar Event
- In the Course Tools section of the Control Panel, click Course Calendar.
- Click the Add Event _____ button.
- Enter a name for the event in the Event Name box.
- Enter a description of the event in the Event Description box.
- In the Event Time section, select the Date, Start Time, and the End Time.
- Click the Submit ____ button and click the OK button.
Note: to view a specific time period in the calendar, click the Quick Jump _____ button, select criteriam and click the Submit ____ button.
Creating a Task
- In the Course Tools section of the Control Panel, click Tasks.
- Click the Add Task ___ button.
- Enter a name for the task in the Task Name box.
- Enter a description of the task in the Description box.
- Select a Due Date for the task.
- Optional: In the Task Options section, click the arrow on the Priority box and select a priority level.
- Click the Submit ____ button and click the OK button.
Sending E-Mail
- In the Course Tools section of the Control Panel, click Send Email.
- Select who you want to send an e-mail to.
- Enter a subject in the Subject box.
- Enter message text in the Message box.
- Optional: To verify delivery of the email, check the Return Receipt box.
- Optional: To add an attachment, click Attach a file and click the Browse ____ button. Locate and select the file that you want to attach and click the Open button.
- Click the Submit _____ button and click the OK button.
Creating a Glossary
- In the Course Tools section of the Control Panel, click Glossary Manager.
- Click the Add Term _____ button.
- Enter the term in the Term box.
- Enter the definition in the Definition box.
- Click the Submit _____ button
- Optional: To add another term, click the Add Another Term _____ button, enter term information, and click the Submit ____ button.
- When you are finished adding terms, click the OK button.
Creating a Message
You can send a course-specific message to users enrolled in a course without leaving the Blackboard environment.
- In the Course Tools section of the Control Panel, Click Messages.
- Click the New Message ______ button.
- Click the To button.
- Select a recipient in the Select Recipients box and click the Add Recipient ____ button. (repeat for all users you want to add.)
- Optional: Click the Cc and Bcc buttons to add additional users.
- Enter a message subject in the Subject box.
- Enter message text in the Body box.
- Click the Submit ____ button.
Note: To view messages that you have received, click the Inbox shortcut in the Messages section.
