1. How do I register for Distance Education Classes? Registering Before Classes Begin: Registering for a Distance Education class is the same as registering for an on-campus class. Admissions information is located at: Admissions Requirements Registration information is located at: Registration Process 2. Can I register for classes late? Registering After Classes Begin: Once classes begin, late registration is in effect. For advice, please contact the Academic Department responsible for the distance class you want to take. 3. How much do Distance Education classes cost? Tuition for Distance Education Classes is slightly higher than on-campus credit classes. See Tuition information page. 4. Are Distance Education credits transferable to other colleges? As with all TVCC classes, Distance Education credits are transferable if your classes are listed under the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer Degree. Information is located at Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer Degree. If your classes are listed under the Associate of Applied Science Degree, located at Associate of Applied Science Degree many of the classes may be transferable to other colleges. Check with your program advisor. 5. What kind of degrees or certificates can I earn through Treasure Valley Community College? Please consult with TVCC Academic Advising Services for information on degrees or certificates through Distance Education. 6. What are the different types of Distance Education classes? Distance Education classes are offered Online. Some classes can be completed from home, while some classes require at least one visit to a TVCC campus. For more information check the current quarter listing of classes. 7. I am in high school and want to take college classes. What do I need to do to enroll? A TVCC academic advisor will help you. Call the specialist at Student Services at (541)881-5815. 8. Where can I go for more help? Online Courses 9. I have registered for an online class but I have not received verification of my registration. How do I know that I am registered? You can verify your registration through online registration at Registration Process. 10. Do Online classes require me to come to campus? Some courses will require exams to be taken on campus. If that is not an option, a location such as the local library can sometimes be registered as an exam site. Some courses require attendence for labs. 11. Do Online classes have on-campus exams? Some Online classes have required on-campus orientations. Some classes may require you to come to campus for exams; others may have lab sessions that you need to attend. See the Course Information Page for your individual class for this information. To find the Course Information, go to the Class Schedule, and click on the name of your class. 12. I've registered for an Online class, what do I do next. Where can I find more information about my class? New Students: Take the Orientation to Online Learning. The Orientation will guide you through all the steps for taking an online course and give you directions for the login process. Read the Course Information Page for each class you are taking. Course Information Pages are maintained by instructors, and contain valuable information. The Course Information for your class can be found by clicking on your class name in the Current Class Schedule. |
