ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL
The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree is a recommended course of study for individuals interested in pursuing a career in medical transcription. The degree is not designed to transfer to a four-year institution, although a majority of classes are transferable. The Medical Transcription program provides solid groundwork in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, transcription, and computer training. The student entering this program is preparing for immediate employment as a medical transcriptionist in hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices, etc. upon completion of this degree.
